A God's Eye View
Happy Saturday!
I hope you are getting the opportunity to enjoy the glorious blue skies
and bright clouds. I am always in awe of how beautiful the world is in
its natural state. For me, it is a window into the heart of God, and how
much He loves us for allowing us to live in such lavish surroundings.
Today, I want to
discuss God's view of our lives. In our "ant-like" condition, it is very
easy to get lost. So many times because of our busy state of mind and
body we forget the benefits of being children of The Most High God. I
was reminded of this last week while driving home my job out west in the
country. I saw the most beautiful sight...cumulus clouds piled thousands
of miles high against the most brilliant of blue sky. Underneath this
ethereal sight was a grey underbelly, with water pouring down upon the
city below.
"Wow," I
thought..."that is amazing!" But, as I drew closer to the city my view
of the clouds changed into the the dark grey gloom of a rainy day. I
thought, "I wonder if the people here know the beauty piled atop of this
cold, wet, gloom?" I would go out on a limb to say no... they didn't.
The passage below came to my mind...
"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,"
declares the LORD. Isaiah 55:8
Most of us think of rain as an inconvenience, as it is commonly known
as, "bad weather." But my view from afar gave me a very different
outlook... it was God was washing away all the impurities from the city
below; as well as, replenishing the land with food and water. It made me
see how foolish it was to view something so wonderful as an
inconvenience. How our dad must look at us sometimes at our ridiculous
displeasure.
Then, my mind carried me to another passage...
"Instead, God chose things the world considers foolish in order to shame
those who think they are wise. And he chose things that are powerless to
shame those who are powerful." 1 Corinthians 1:27
Clearly, we as
intelligent individuals have a skewed view of things. I will tell you
why...
This week I
witnessed love in its most purest form... it was innocent and clean.
However, many of the most intelligent representatives of the Christian
faith would frown upon it, and condemn the person. It is a re-occurring
theme throughout the church that I love so much. I wondered how can we
be so right and so wrong at the same time? The thought of it bothered me
as a saw two women in my life I love dearly struggle underneath the
heaviness of each situation. One in love with a man of different faith
halfway around the world... the other an opportunity. In each case I
heard God whisper to me, "You must tell my representatives they have to
have faith in Me, and allow my children to follow their love."
God continued
on, "Look throughout scripture at the men and women I have chosen...
many have gone against the worldly grain." Those who, the world around
them, clearly thought were wrong. But I judge the attitudes of the
heart... not the status of a man. If they are on the wrong path, like
Saul who later became Paul, I will reveal it to them and turn them
towards my glory. However, if they were not wrong... do you want to be
the man or woman who judged or blocked my children?" For me, its a
no... what is your response?
I also, over the
past few weeks, have had to comfort those who have lost loved ones. For
you I give the following scripture...
"When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the
mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true:
"Death has been swallowed up in victory." 1
Corinthians
15:54
Like the misrepresented rain cloud... death is also sorely
misrepresented. We have been conditioned to fear death, and pray
earnestly to avert it from the ones we care for so deeply. FIT family
understand this, your loved ones were loved by God, and He knew their
bodies were suffering.. so He took off their perishable bodies and gave
them immortality. Your prayers were answered. I understand you will miss
them.... but for only a little while. Because one day, God will do the
same for you and you will see them again.
To wrap-up this communication, I beg you to live through and love
through everything thing in life. Don't lose a moment by worrying or
condemning... From God's eye view of it all .... "All things work for
the good of those who love the Lord." Romans 8:28 Both on rainy
and on sunny days.
Until
next time . . . SG
