But
God and His angels were there to help him
secure another car. When he got home, he was happily surprised to find
his tax return check that gave him a few hundred dollars more to invest
in another car. With the help of his brother, they stopped by a new car
dealership just to check things out.
To
their surprise and blessing from God, he
was able to purchase a brand-new car. That was a miracle from the above.
An impossible occurrence that wasn't in the cards, buying a new car on
credit when he was only in the new land for a few months. But to their
dismay, the cash he had saved was enough to entice the dealership to
forgo his lack of credit and let him have the car. He now had a
brand-new car that gave him the confidence that would propel him up.
The car was precisely he always had in mind since he had first seen it
back home in a wealthy man garage that he had bought for his teenage son
from America.
He
never thought it would be possible, never mind in such a short span of
the time. The car gave him protection and practically a place he could
call home where he could sleep in when there was no other place to put
his head down. It had heat that kept him warm at nights when it was so
cold to the bone.
Most importantly, the car gave him the much-needed legs that helped him
to find another job, a better paying job in a restaurant where he could
work inside and have a warm meal while sitting down. A new job and a new
car made him look more of a success. Even though he still made a meager
living, he was blessed and was happy to be in such a wonderful land with
kindness and prettiest girls all around. He loved and respected women
and was liked by them all. After all, they are
God's gifts to men to wed and to become family men.
Albeit, his artistic talent, and his excellent penmanship had helped him
along through his schools and his time serving in the army camp, his
parents insisted it for him to study engineering or law or to become a
doctor, to guarantee financial security. But he had discovered that art
was a well-respected talent in his new homeland.
But
God had his angels to help direct him in
that direction as art was one thing he loved and cherished above all
other professions, as he always believed that was the only way he could
survive.
By
the Grace of God, when he was looking for
a better paying job, he landed a one as a dishwasher, and shortly after,
becoming a chef in a big restaurant. It was a blessing and had come at
the last minute when all hopes for finding a job seemed lost. And with
it, came an earthly angel, a young, beautiful art student at the nearby
famed collage.
They fell in love as young people do. She was a great inspiration for
him as he witnessed her studies in art. He had found his calling! Art
was going to be his profession as he was innately full of raw talents.
As their love blossomed, they moved and lived together in another town
where she had obtained a job, and they planned to get married one day at
the right time.
Even though by then, he had a good-paying job as a supervisor in a
restaurant chain, he left unexpectedly to seek a career in the field of
art he loved. His girlfriend upset and challenged his decision and
considered his action of quitting a good-paying job irresponsible and
careless at best. She was right as it became apparent that finding a
career in the field of art without proper educations and experience was
hard and near impossible than he thought. He should have known better
since after graduation, his girlfriend, who had finished at the top of
her class, got lucky and was selected among hundreds by a company at a
school's job fair and offered an internship position paying the minimum
wage. She was delighted and considered herself very lucky to have found
that job.
In
short, he was in a heap of trouble and had no business looking for an
artist's job with a little knowledge, experience, or formal education!
Notably, in a recession and a tight job market of the time. But taking
risks was all he could do as he believed that the conventional ways were
too slow for climbing the ladder of success.
