Levi's Note:
Asking God for direction and signs to ease my pain and confusion
The
2nd Heavenly Sign – Mother Mary statue
10/17/12 -
On
that early morning, there weren’t many people at the beach yet. It was a
glorious day after a big storm a few days earlier. The high surfs had
deposited a lot of small and large debris on the beach.
I gingerly walked to the edge of the water and headed north, up to the
blowing rocks before I turned around heading south. The sun was up a few
feet above the water, brightly reflecting off of the golden water and
the sand. It was a couple of hours into the high tide. A long stretch of
the beach was washed smoothly with the outgoing tide like a blank
sand-color stretched canvas, glistening under the morning sun. Serenely,
there were no shells or any other debris on this stretch of sand, even
though there were debris and seaweeds all around that were washed ashore
with the storm.
As
I was walking by it, I notice a small dimple in the middle of that wide
stretch of smooth glistering sand. At first, I thought it was a little
toy that kids get with their “Happy Meals.” I scooped it up as I walked
by. I opened my hand and looked at the object just to be shocked to see
it was a small plastic figurine of Mother Mary – the type people glue to
their cars or boats' dashboards as their guardian angel – holding a lit
torch in her right hand and the scripture with a cross on the cover and
an urn of holy water in the left hand while standing on the top of a
coiled serpent. (Pictures above)
I
was pleasantly relieved as this was a direct sign from above. I have
been coming to this beach for over 26 years and have found many
artifacts and shells but never a religious statue, especially when I was
asking for a divine sign.
