16. Abuse of Power

GOD:

It is just as incomprehensible and unforgivable for those in power, in this case the American presidents, who have pardoned some2 who didn’t stand trial and didn’t repent for their crimes, solely based on the tainted money they received from them to advance their own agenda, without respect for the villagers and the villages’ laws. The sacred pardoning power among other powers given by the villagers to the so called “trusted” villagers is not to be used for their personal gains or pleasure. It should  rather  be used to save worthy lives and only after that person stood trial by their peers for the crime they’re accused of and then have proven themselves to be worthy of saving or being wrongfully convicted. And only then, and in accordance to the letter of the law, should the power of pardon be used.(1)

No one should be above the law of the village, especially those who have committed crimes and/or illegally amassed fortunes to the detriment of the village and the world they live in. These self-serving pardons further erode the trust and honor in the village and in the villagers’ minds, as perception is reality.

Rich, 68, is the ex-wife of billionaire commodities trader Marc Rich, who was pardoned in 2001 by then-president Bill Clinton for oil profiteering and tax evasion after he fled to Switzerland. The pardon was considered controversial because of Denise Rich's financial contributions to the Democratic Party and to the Clinton Library.

As of 2001, Denise Rich had made more than $1.3 million in political contributions to the Democratic Party since 1993, including $70,000 to Hillary Clinton's Senate campaign and $450,000 to the Clinton presidential library in Arkansas.
